Can you come out to my home or place of work to do repairs?
We can do mobile repairs if you are unable to bring the car to our shop. However, we prefer to do the repairs in our shop as the controlled environment helps insure the best quality repair possible. We will work with you to get your vehicle into the shop, including rides to your place of work or home, and pickup and delivery of your vehicle. Cold temperatures can make outdoor repairs difficult. Mobile repairs in the wintertime often require a heated garage or shop.
I travel in states where there are safety inspections. Will your repairs pass these inspections?
We guarantee our repairs to pass DOT safety inspections in all 50 states. If for some reason a repair fails to meet safety standards we guarantee a refund of the repair price. If you prefer, we can apply the repair charges towards replacement, or bill your insurance company for the difference.
I once had a chip in my windshield for a year before it cracked out. Is it necessary to get my windshield repaired right away?
The sooner we can repair your windshield after the damage occurs, the better. The longer a chip remains unrepaired the more dirt is introduced into the break resulting in lower quality repairs. Also, there is no way to know how long a chip will withstand the elements (heat, cold, water, vibrations, etc.) before it will crack out.
How large of a chip repair or crack can you fix?
If a chip is larger than a quarter, we often recommend replacement. However, depending on the situation, we can do chips larger. Insurance companies often require us to replace the windshield if chips are located in the critical viewing area of the driver. Normally we don't guarantee cracks more than six inches long, but we have done crack repairs several inches long that have saved the windshield from having to be replaced.
Have you made repairs that failed?
Yes, but rarely. The odds of our high quality repairs failing are extremely low!
